Things We Love About Our Chevy Conversion Van

When I was looking for the perfect family vehicle, I had a Goldilocks-type sense of what I wanted. An RV was too big and clunky. An SUV was too small and trendy. A Chevy conversion van was just right. As it turned out, choosing a conversion van was the perfect choice. Nothing suits our family quite like our Chevy van. Here are just a few things that we love about our Chevy conversion van.

Price

Many consumers in the market for a large or recreational vehicle do not realize that buying a conversion van can give more bang for the buck. Many conversion van models do not cost more than a large SUV and a whole lot less than a traditional RV. Financially speaking, opting for a conversion van was the perfect medium between the other two options — and, in our case; we paid less than either for the van. Imagine that. A custom-built, family-sized vehicle, which has many amenities with the price of an SUV that does not guzzle gas? I consider this pure perfection.

Space

The spatial capacity of a conversion van is surprisingly large. It is not always apparent from the outside, but a conversion van’s interior is quite roomy and very comfortable. My family of four (including two children that consider constant bickering a vital daily function) never felt cramped or crowded on extensive road trips. When we first considered a conversion van, I was very nervous about the space issue. One purchase and a long trip later was all I needed to banish that notion.

Intimacy

Here is the ironic inverse of the abundant space bonus. Somehow, the roomy conversion van still manages to feel intimate. Unlike the larger cabs of an RV, where fellow travelers can vanish from plain sight, conversion vans keep travel companions within eyeshot. When supervising children during an outing, this eyes-on, hands-off ability becomes very helpful. You can keep a watchful eye out without suffocating anyone’s space or travel experience.

Amenities

This is the best part about our conversion van because we chose our own features. It did not take us long to mutually agree that a flat-screen television was a necessary component for the van, but we also installed a couple of game systems. After adding a refrigerator, satellite radio and sound system, hitting the road became more about the trip than the actual destination.

Baseball and Conversion Vans

The numbers are insane.
Albert Pujols, the sure fire Hall of Fame first baseman for the St. Louis Cardinals, is on the final year of his contract. Negotiations have been on-going, and numbers like $300 million for 10 years are floating around. $30 million a year to play baseball? Yeah, I’d take that.
I’m not saying that Pujols isn’t a great baseball player. He’s the best in the game today and one of the greatest of all time. But there is no man living or dead worth $30 million a year, especially a baseball player.
Salaries are just ridiculous in sports, and the end has to come sometime. There is a very real threat of a lockout in the National Football League because owners and players cannot decide how to split $9 billion— in profits! Forget expenses, we are talking profits here, and all these very rich men are doing is calling each other names and pointing fingers. It’s truly unbelievable.
Maybe we should lock all of them in van conversions and forget it. Conversion vans aren’t nearly as expensive as these guys, and they can be customized to fit your needs and desires. When was the last time a sports team or league customized anything to fit you?
Conversion vans are more versatile than any old baseball player. Their size allows you to go anywhere you want, and their gas mileage makes travel a lot less stressful on your wallet, something a baseball player would never consider.
With spacious interiors, luxurious amenities, and road going comfort, Explorer conversion vans could be called the best value on the road today. And they make a lot more sense than high priced baseball players!
